It can be easy to forget just how massive the Great Lakes are. Lake Michigan alone has 1,400 miles of shoreline, and most people see only a tiny fraction of it. Not so for Grandma Josephine Mandamin, who since 2003 has been leading fellow Anishinaabe on sacred “water walks” around each of the Great Lakes. Sadly, Mandamin passed away in February 2019.
In 2018, Siobhan Marks told Mandamin's story to us as part of our live show in Milwaukee all about water.
