Ron Corn Jr. is one of about 20 fluent speakers of the Menominee language. He recently quit his full-time teaching job to spend more time raising his youngest daughter with the language. He hopes that she will be the first child in over a generation whose first language is Menominee and not English.
This story is part of "The Ways," an ongoing series on culture and language from Native communities around the central Great Lakes. It was produced by Finn Ryan of the Wisconsin Media Lab.
