For some of us, space seems more real when we consider actually traveling in it. Imagine you're on a space flight on your way to Mars. Besides some excellent people watching among your fellow would-be astronauts, what do you hear, beyond the walls of your spacecraft? Back in 2007, physicist Don Gurnett has recorded what you might encounter, and it isn't just the sound of desolate silence.
