Twenty-seven years after it originally aired, Twin Peaks returns for a third season on Showtime on Sunday, May 21st. “Twin Peaks” is considered one of the greatest TV dramas ever made. It has a huge cult following. Mark Frost created the show, along with film director David Lynch. Frost is also a novelist and his latest takes a deep dive into the history of the strange Pacific Northwest town and its surreal residents. The book is called “The Secret History of Twin Peaks.” It’s structured as a secret dossier that was put together by a mysterious “archivist” and annotated by an FBI agent. It includes undiscovered diary entries from Lewis and Clark, newspaper articles from the “Twin Peaks Gazette,” and even the menu from the Double R Diner, “where pies go to die.” Doug Gordon sat down with Mark Frost to find out more.
