Emily Temple-Wood has been an avid Wikipedia editor since she was really young. She noticed that women don't get anywhere near the attention on Wikipedia as men do. So she began recruiting people to write more articles about notable women. In return, she got rape and death threats. Now, for every misogynistic message she gets, she writes a new Wikipedia bio of a female scientist.
If you want to see some of the bios Emily and her recruits have written, her Wikiproject for Female Scientists has all the details on their project so far. Their most recent milestone? Every one of the female fellows of the Royal Society now has a Wikipedia bio.
