Marjane Satrapi grew up in Tehran during the Islamic Revolution. She has published two autobiographical graphic novels - “Persepolis” and “Perepolis II,” as well as other works. Chris Ware is the author/illustrator of “Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth.” They appeared on stage together at the Wisconsin Book Festival where they spoke with Jim Fleming about graphic novels, or comic books, and their literary significance. Music was provided live at the event by the Gin Atomics.
