Acoustic ecologist and sound artist Alex Braidwood has recorded many dawn choruses, from first-light to full sunrise, in his Iowa backyard and all over the world. During the height of COVID he used his recordings to conduct a weekly online Sunday mass, which he called a “baptism in sound.” On his album, “Serotinous Repose,” he turns the dawn chorus into music.
