Marc Headley was raised in Los Angeles, California. Headley's mother was a Scientologist, and she brough him up within the organization from an early age. He began work as an employee for the organization at age 16. Headley worked out of the organizations' international headquarters in Hemet, California for 15 years. In 2005, Headley escaped from the international headquarters of the organization. He received the help of police during his escape from the organization.
After leaving the organization, Headley started to write about his experiences in Scientology. He is the author of "Blown for Good: Behind the Iron Curtain of Scientology."
