Karen Levine is a producer for the CBC. She talks with Anne Strainchamps about “Hana’s Suitcase.” Hana Brady perished as a child in a Nazi death camp. Half a century later, a strong-willed Japanese schoolteacher tracked down her suitcase, and then her surviving brother in Toronto. Fumiko Ishioka, the teacher, and George Brady now tell their story to schoolchildren. We hear their voices in a clip from Karen Levine’s CBC documentary. Levine’s book is called “Hana’s Suitcase.”
