Nicholas Felton transforms data into something beautiful. As a self-described "information designer" and extremely dedicated life logger, he tracks aspects of his life over the course of the year and then publishes them as "annual reports." These detailed, beautiful books have become a kind of collector's item, and some of them are now a part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art.
In this interview, he discusses how he got into data logging, and the experience of working with a dataset that wasn't his own: the materials that his father left behind when he died.
