The Silk Road was once the great meeting place between the East and the West - a network of ancient trading routes winding through China and India, across Central Asia and Iran to the Mediterranean. British travel writer Colin Thubron recently spent eight months trekking the 7,000 miles of the old route for his book "Shadow of the Silk Road." He talks with Jim Fleming about the book and the journey.
