Alan Lee’s illustrations for an early edition of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings” landed him a job as a conceptual artist on the Peter Jackson film production crew.  He tells Anne Strainchamps that Lothlorien was the hardest set to realize, the mines of Moria were easy, and the one of the locations from “The Two Towers” is his favorite.
