Despite all the self- aggrandizing copy below, George Michelsen Foy actually has a sense of humor and some perspective, but he has to publicize his work. So: He is the author of thirteen published novels (under both names) and two nonfiction books. He is the recipient of a National Endowment of the Art fellowship in fiction, and his novel Art & Practice of Explosion placed second in Foreword magazine's novel of the year award. He has been an investigative reporter, writer, and/or editor for BusinessWeek, the International Herald Tribune, the Cape Cod Times and Register, and his articles, reviews, and stories have been published by Rolling Stone, the Boston Globe, Harper’s, the New York Times, and Men’s Journal, among others. He was educated at the London School of Economics and Political Science and Bennington College, and got more and possibly better education working as a commercial fisherman off Cape Cod, and as a ship's officer on British tramp freighters in the North Sea. He now teaches creative writing at New York University. He has a family, and divides his time between coastal Massachusetts and New York City.
