The Iraq War Is Over?

After eight years of engagement, President Obama says all US combat forces will be out of Iraq by the end of December.  As we look back on this extended deployment of American troops, we've been digging through our Boots on the Ground series, and want to share the story of John McCary.

He's an Iraq War veteran, who read for us an e-mail about the brutal nature of the insurgency that he sent to his family in 2004 .
