Antoinetter Varner - also known as Gangaji - says she spent decades wrestling and reshaping her narrative identity. But when she met her true spiritual teacher - a Hindu man vaguely alligned with the nondualist tradition - he told her to stop all stories. Gangaji says that's when she was finally able to connect with the "I" that underlies our selves.

In this UNCUT interview, Steve Paulson asks Gangaji about her story, and the end of stories.

I found this to be a very insightful piece and I truly enjoyed it.

Thank you very much for the beautifull interview

We are so blessed by this message.

Thank You !

I've listened to many gurus talk about non-being and awareness. This discussion with Gangaji definitely stands out. She has some unique insights I found very helpful and inspiring. For example, she recommends an attainable goal of not destroying yourself completely but paying attention to the fear that crops up when taking a break from your internal narratives. Steve's pertinent, probing questions keep the conversation interesting.

Catholic theologian and monk Fr. Thomas Keating would be a great complement to this dialog regarding the false self, the true self, and the practice of faith and contemplation as one means of returning to the true self. Great discussion.

We are not our stories, or those that others create about us.
