Digital Divide?
It isn't just a problem in other parts of the world. Libraries have been working to bridge the digital divide since the beginning right here in the US. My library offers free computer classes for beginners as well as more advanced users, there are job search classes, free computers with high speed Internet for everyone to use and so much more. All of these free services are in high demand. And most importantly my library provides trained information specialists to help guide people through the often confusing masses of information. We call them Librarians. You don't have to go around the world to find the digital divide because it is right in your neighborhood. And you will also find those of us who are working hard to bridge that gap right there too.
